Mara Squicciarini

Mara Squicciarini is an Associate Professor at Bocconi University. 

Her research interests are in Economic History and Economics of Culture, with a special focus on the Economics of Religion. In her work, exploiting historical data, she has studied the role of religiosity for accumulation of human capital and economic development, the relationship between religiosity and scientific progress, as well the role of religious leaders in politics. She has recently received an ERC starting grant on “Education, Diversity, Innovation, and Politics.”
