Aditi Bhowmick

Aditi Bhowmick is a second year PhD student in Public Policy (Economics Track) at the Harvard Kennedy School, and a PhD Scholar at the Stone Program in Wealth Distribution, Inequality & Social Policy. Her research focuses on development and labor economics. Specifically, she studies barriers to female labor force participation in developing countries and how social norms interact with economic shocks to perpetuate political, social, and economic gender inequality. She was previously working as India Director at Development Data Lab, where she produced research on in-group judicial bias in India, upward mobility in South Asia, and implications of cultural capital on access to economic opportunity in India.
