LEAP and Bocconi University, in collaboration with the Bocconi Students for Diplomacy and International Cooperation Association, organized a conference in remembrance of Luca Attanasio, Italian Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Alumnus Bocconi.

Rector Gianmario Verona will open the event with a Welcome address.

Paolo Magri (ISPI and Bocconi University) will discuss "The role of diplomacy and humanitarian aid".

Andrea Guariso (LEAP and University of Milano Bicocca), Eliana La Ferrara (LEAP and Bocconi University) and Jean-Léonard Touadi (Centro Relazioni con l’Africa, Società Geografica Italiana) will participate in the panel discussion "Understanding the impact of humanitarian Intervention in Central and Eastern Africa"  moderated by Lea Casucci (Bocconi Students for Diplomacy and International Cooperation Association)

A series of Testimonies in memory of Luca Attanasio  will follow: The first beneficiaries of the first Bocconi Scholarships in memory of Luca Attanasio, Matthias Georges Bonoiton and Jessica Obi Kalu; Federica Bonatti (Bocconi Students for Humanity Association) and Zakia Seddiki from Mama Sofia NGO.

At the end, Luca’s father, Salvatore Attanasio, will join Gianmario Verona for a simple remembrance ceremony.

The event will be held on May 3, 2022, 5:30 - 7:00 pm at Bocconi University, Aula Maggiore, Via Sarfatti 25.
